Special Educational Needs Placement
Praxis Care, The Hub

In September of 2018, myself and 3 of my peers went on placement as part of our SEN training in NCAD, and w had the pleasure of working for 2 weeks in Praxis Care, the hub, situated in the heart of Drogheda Town.

Our approach was to create a wonderful and safe learning environment for learners and to propose projects that were mostly related to the effects of tactile and visual textures, exploring mediums like wool, weaving, clay, paper collage and mark making.
'The Hub is a day service that caters for adults with a diagnosis of autism, intellectual disability and/ or complex needs. The Hub aims to support individualised day activities that promote social inclusion within the local community. The Hub operates under the New Direction guidelines which aims to promote a person centred, needs led approach.'
